Global Accounting Alliance

The Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) was formed in 2005.

 

It is an alliance of leading professional accountancy bodies in major capital markets. The GAA was set up to promote quality services, share information and collaborate on key international issues with national regulators, governments, stakeholders and member-body association. The alliance focuses on articulation of consensus views and joint collaboration with other international bodies such as the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

International Innovation Network

The Institute of the International Innovation Network (IIN) was formed in 2002 and comprises of national accounting institutes in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. IIN seeks to stimulate innovation and ensure quality in the products and services for the benefit of the global accounting profession.

 

Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) became the 18thmember of IIN in 2009. ICPAS's inception into this prestigious global network signals recognition of the Institute's stature by a worldwide network of major accountancy bodies.

 

IIN's web site is hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). You need to be a registered member to access the website.

 

 

 


 

International Federation of Accountants

 

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) is the global organisation for the accountancy profession. It is committed to protect the public interest by developing high-quality international standards, promoting strong ethical values, encouraging quality practice and supporting the development of all sectors of the profession worldwide.

 

As a member of IFAC, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) abides in IFAC standards to lead, develop and support accountancy professionals and to protect the public interest.

International Accounting Standards Board

The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) is the independent standard-setting body of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation. The IASB follows a thorough, open and transparent process in its publication of consultative documents, such as discussion papers and exposure drafts for public comment. The IASB engages closely with stakeholders around the world, including investors, analysts, regulators, business leaders, accounting standard-setters in the accountancy profession.

 

Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) closely follows IASB's standards to develop the accounting profession.

ASEAN Federation of Accountants

The ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) was created to serve as the umbrella organisation for the national associations of accounting professionals of the member countries of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). One of the key aims of the Federation is to enhance the continuous development of the accounting profession in the region through the joint endeavours of accountants in the region. Presently, AFA membership comprises of all 10 ASEAN member countries.

 

A member of AFA, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) will support AFA in establishing closer relations and continuous development of the profession.

South Asian Federation of Accountants

South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) is a forum of professional accountancy bodies committed to position, maintain and develop the accountancy profession in South Asia region. The federation represents over 170,000 accountants from the national chartered accountancy and cost and management accountancy institutions in the South Asian countries.

Asia Oceania Tax Consultants' Association

The Asia Oceania Tax Consultants' Association (AOTCA) was founded in 1992 by 10 tax professionals' bodies located in the Asian and Oceanic regions. Currently, the association had expanded to 20 member organisations from 16 countries and regions.

 

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) is a member of the Association.

INSOL International

INSOL International is a world-wide federation of national associations for accountants and lawyers which specialise in turnaround and insolvency. The federation currently has 40 member associations world-wide with over 10,000 professionals participating as members of INSOL International.

 

Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore Limited (IPAS) are members of INSOL International. In 2006, IPAS was set up with the view of ensuring a high level of professional competence and ethical conduct of insolvency practitioners for the benefit of the public. Its founding members are the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore and the Law Society of Singapore.

American Society of Appraisers

The American Society of Appraisers (ASA) is an international organisation of appraisal professionals and those who are interested in the appraisal profession. The ASA is the oldest and the major appraisal organisation representing all of the disciplines of appraisal specialist. It aims to help the public and professionals find an ASA accredited appraiser and develop the appraisal profession.

The International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) 

  

The International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) is a global not-for-profit organisation. The association aims to promote excellence in accounting education and research on a worldwide basis and to maximize the contribution of accounting academics to the development and maintenance of high quality, globally recognised standards of accounting practice.

 

As a member of IAAER, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) works closely with IAAER to provide research-based initiatives to strengthen the development of accounting and auditing standards.
